Here are some of our favourite Easter blooms we think will help brighten your Easter celebrations

Tulips – Available in a rainbow of colours – tulips represent love and passion. The are a perfect choice for adding a vibrant touch to your Easter table.

Hyacinths – Are just starting to come through from our suppliers are looking amazing. Hyacinths are known for their beautiful fragrance and various colours, a lovely addition to any Easter floral.

Roses – Always a perfect choice, available in a wide range of colours to help hide the chocolate eggs.

Our studio will be trading over the Easter long weekend as follows

Good Friday – CLOSED
Easter Saturday – 9am – 2pm

Easter Sunday – 10am – 2pm

Easter Monday – CLOSED

As it is a busy period for our little flower shop, I highly recommend preordering so you don’t miss out.

 

Easter for me looks like spending some time at the flower shop, followed by easter egg hunts, cuddles and hot cross buns with the littlest easter bunnies in my life.

Caring for your Flowers

At Jacinta’s Flower Studio, we believe that flowers bring so much joy and beauty into our lives. And if you’ve just received a stunning bouquet from our flower delivery service or are looking to send flowers to someone you love – knowing how to care for your florals is essential for keeping them vibrant and fresh.

Here are our expert tips to help you maintain your flower and enjoy their beauty for as long as possible.

  1. CHOOSE THE RIGHT LOCATION

Choosing the perfect spot for your flowers is the first step to looking after your blooms. Flowers thrive in a cool, well-lit area away from direct sunlight, drafts and heat sources. If you have just received flowers make sure to get them into a suitable location asap!

2. TRIM THE STEMS

Although all our bouquets are all sent out in our signature wet pack – you need to trim their stems before placing them into water. Cut approximately 1cm from the bottom and on a sharp angle – this increases the surface area for water absorption and prevents the stems from sitting flat on the bottom of the vase. Remember to trim the bottom of the stems every few days to keep your flowers hydrated.

The wet pack the flowers arrive in can go directly on the garden to help keep your plants hydrated too!

3. USE CLEAN WATER

After making sure your vase is clean, fill with clean water and add the flowers food that comes with your bouquet – this contains special nutrients that ensure your flowers stay fresh! Change the water and clean your vase every 2-3 days to ensure your flowers stay vibrant and fresh.

4. REMOVE WILTING LEAVES AND FLOWERS

As flowers begin to age it is so important to remove any wilting petals or leaves that may fall into the vase – this helps to prevent bacteria growth and keeps the water clean.

5. AVOID ETHYLENE GAS

Some fruit and vegetables emit ethylene gas, which can cause flowers to wilt prematurely. Keep your florals away from produce to ensure the stay fresher for longer.

6. ENJOY YOUR BLOOMS

The most important step in caring for your florals is to take time to appreciate your blooms! Whether you’ve decided to treat yourself or received a bouquet through our flower delivery service – enjoy the colours, fragrances and beauty they bring to your space.

Mother’s Day 2024

This year Mother’s Day is on Sunday 12th May 2023, and there is nothing a Mum loves more than feeling loved and appreciated by her children. And while I am in the business of flowers – there are so many ways you can show your Mum how much you appreciate all they do for you.

The most wonderful thing about being a Mum to young children is the unconditional love I receive, and I’m sure for Mother’s Day this year my babies will have my gifts covered with finger painting, glitter and colouring outside the lines – BUT this wouldn’t be a flower blog if I didn’t mention that fresh flowers make a wonderful gift for Mother’s Day!

Whether it be a single stem of a traditional chrysanthemum, or a lush bouquet to fill a vase Mum will certainly be surprised with the love and care with what you have selected for her.

              

If you are choosing fresh flowers for Mum this Mother’s Day here are some tips, we recommend –

  • Order early!

We go through so many flowers Mother’s Day week, that we are bound to run low on certain varieties or colours as the week progresses, ordering early helps us plan to avoid this!

  • A heartfelt message

Write a loving message to be attached to the blooms – a message from the heart is always full of

love. We hand write all our messages to ensure they have a personal touch.

  • Delivery

A bouquet of flowers for Mum is the perfect surprise, but remember often Mum’s head out for a Mother’s Day lunch, and due to the volume of deliveries we just physically can’t get them all there before lunchtime, so why not consider having them delivered the day before? It gives Mum an extra day to enjoy her blooms and makes sure you get in first before your brothers and sisters!!
